Mass intentions are a way to offer the graces given by God for the sacrifice of the Mass to a specific person or a special intention. Typical intentions may be for the repose of the soul of someone who has passed away, for the health of someone who is ill, someone who is about to undergo surgery, a marriage anniversary, or even a birthday.
Canon Law confirms this practice and states, “In accord with the approved practice of the Church, any priest celebrating, or concelebrating is permitted to receive an offering to apply the Mass for a specific intention” (Can. 945 §1).
The church is funded solely by the gracious donations and offerings given by parishioners, visitors, and special events held at the church. A small donation is considered appropriate when requesting an intention to be offered at a Mass.
Mass intention envelopes are available at the sacristy. Simply ask a volunteer or the presiding priest (after Mass) and they can direct you to the sacristy, where you can pick up and fill-out an intention card. You may also print and utilize the scanned images below:
Please only utilize the blue "All Souls" envelope for intentions and rememberance during Mass on November 2nd, the Feast of the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed.
